Amy Avdeeff

Amy Avdeeff is an artist living and working in Squamish BC, and her work focuses mainly on oil painting and ink drawing. She received a minor in Studio Art while studying Environmental Science at the University of Alberta, Augustana Campus in Camrose AB, and much of her work is influenced by environmental issues. Avdeeff's current work in oil explores the juxtaposition of the female figure and dead birds, namely pigeons and magpies. Her current Dead Bird Series and wildlife ink drawings are a dark narrative of the beauty and death of nature, it's fragility and resilience, and humanity's inherent connection to the natural world.
